In his youth years, Zu began DJ-ing, making beats and marketing events Upstate NY. Eventually he became more infatuated with Hip Hop while hanging out in NYC’s historic hot spots like The Fever, Harlem World etc. Fast-forward relocating to the DMV. Widely known for, his residency DJ at The legendary Howard Theater in Washington DC. Also sharing the stage & endorsements from some of the most influential legendary artist & icons of a life time, such as Rakim, Chante Moore, Loose Ends, George Clinton, Stephanie Mills, Keith Sweat, Salt-n-Pepa, De La Soul, Big Daddy Kane, Slick Rick, Brand Nubian, Rory Stone Love are just to name a few. 2021 rebirth of the DJs / mix album series, Zu "Crates of Soul" exclusives remixes.

Last but not least, Zu Crates of Soul .Live, mature party / concert series under a common goal, preserving the culture we all love and appreciate, DJ Zu spinning over 4 decades of good music Classic Hip Hop, Neo Soul, Reggae & Afrobeats etc.
